Senior Network Administrator
Description: Responsible for defining and maintaining the company’s co-located network servers including web, database and email servers. Providing programming assistance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in generating and initiate network improvement procedures
- Maintain integrity, security of organization’s internet infrastructure
- Supporting technologies including firewalls/routing/load balancing, etc.
- Evaluate, recommend, develop, and maintain software tools and utilities that support web applications
- Keep updated about current and future releases, patch levels, and versions
- Assure network operation protocols are followed and updated
- Provide related support as required to clients and team members
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with PHP programming requirements pertaining to client web applications
- Create code/modules for Joomla and X-Cart
- Write specs for programming projects
Qualifications:
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Five years of experience with network administration in a web environment
- Thorough knowledge of Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL servers
- Shell scripting and PHP programming experience
- Communication skills; ability to interface with clients and other team members
- Problem solving skills
