The idea for Apple-Creek began in late 2003 in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, in Maryville, Tennessee. Two brothers, Chad and Kent Kyker, both passionate outdoorsmen, realized that nine million tourists visited the Smoky Mountains each year. As is so often the case, Chad and Kent turned their passion into a hobby and their hobby grew into a business. They believed that outdoor living should be relaxing and enjoyable. They wanted to serve those who enjoyed the outdoors as much as they do. They did their homework, looking for and designing products for the outdoors that were innovative and fun. Most recently they have launched Apple-Creek Furniture, a collection of high quality cedar and teak furniture designed for comfort, durability, and style.
Apple-Creek put out a request for proposal and were soon contacted by BizAtomic. The brothers had big plans and dreams. Peggy Rice, their BizAtomic sales associate was persistent in learning about what they were trying to do. "All the people at BizAtomic were genuinely interested in our project and we felt like we had a partner on our journey", Chad said. “BizAtomic listened to us and Peggy’s consultative skills helped us move our business forward."
Our website was published in December 2004. Four months later it had paid for itself. Unlike many companies that start with a brick and mortar presence and move online, Apple-Creek is reversing the trend. Now that they have proven their business concept online they are looking into how best to serve those nine million tourists that come to the Smoky Mountains each year. “BizAtomic gave us the confidence to make related business decisions. |
